Before you plant

A few things to know about your garden.

How long do plants take to grow?

As long as they take in a real garden. Cress is ready to cut in about a week, radishes in about 25 days, cherry tomatoes start ripening around day 65, peppers around day 140, and an oak drops its first acorns after decades. Dry soil, hunger, poor light or the wrong season slow growth down. Grow-y models these from published growing data, but cannot reproduce every condition in a real garden.

What happens when I close the app?

Your plants keep growing, drinking and ripening. Soil dries, fruit ripens and, if nobody picks it, some is lost on the plant. Turn on reminders to hear when a plant needs water or has a picking ready. Care you do offline is applied when you reconnect; it cannot change what happened while you were away.

Is it free to play?

You can plant, care for, and harvest your garden without a subscription.

Can I use more than one device?

Yes. Sign into the same account to open your garden on a phone, tablet, or computer. Push reminders must be enabled separately on each device.

Where do harvested plants go?

Into your Journal, which keeps every plant's story: what you picked, what was lost and its care grade. Repeat croppers stay in the garden until their season ends; single crops finish when you harvest them.
